This year there were some major upsets especially in Counter Strike, DOTA, Call of Duty and FIFA09 where some of the top professional teams and players were eliminated in the early rounds and could not make the top positions.  Wiredup Gaming was the national organizer for the event contracted by Telenor Pakistan to organize the qualifying rounds in various cities as well as the national event at EXPO. There was a setting for about 100+ computers on the stage and a separate Playstation lounge for the FIFA09/PS3 players. Spectators were provided with large screens to watch but it was hard to control them getting on the stage to cheer their teams on.
You could see the festivities and the gamer community excited to meet with their peers from different cities for the first time.  The most popular games as always proved to be Counter Strike, DOTA and FIFA09 were there were a lot of fans to be seen and the highest participation.  Congratulations to all the winners on their glorious win.
